This is my first mermaid piece, one that was a strange, yet satisfying experiment. I don't know if I've succeeded or it's bound to please those reading my stories, yet I wanted to do some different things.

What motivated me, beside my penchant for experimentation, was the fact that had just opened up a contest kaztle.deviantart.com/journal/… in which people had to write something that would inspire him to make a comic. Something that would transcribe well to a 8-25 pages story in sequential art. I do hope he'll like it well enough and that I have a fair chance to win the competition.

Still, it was fun to write and I hope people will appreciate it nonetheless. Comments, as always, are most welcome.

*Update* I did a very quick and possibly amateur-ish editing job on the story, if only to iron out the errors that I could see with my limited knowledge.

*Second update* Well, the contest ended and I got second place. Not a bad showing, if I may express myself on my performance.
